COLUMBUS, OH - Hot on the heels of awards at the 2021 Berlin International Spirits Competition and the 2022 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, Echo Spirits is pleased to announce that we've won several awards at the 2022 New York International Spirits Competition, including a Double Gold Medal for our Rum.

In a field of more than 1400 entries from 39 countries, Echo Spirits took home medals for all three spirits we entered. Additionally, the committee of judges also granted us a distillery-level award. Let's take a look!

OUR THOUGHTS

We're blown away yet again at having a bottle win a Double Gold Medal in a large competition. We started Echo Spirits with no real distilling experience. To see that our hard work and attention to detail has paid off is rewarding to say the least. We set out to make world-class spirits and stand out among distilleries that have decades or centuries more experience than we do. There's always been a chip on our shoulder, trying to prove we belong in that conversation.

In recent months, our Rum, Pineapple Rum, and Queen's Share Rum have all won a gold or higher in a major competition. We've been named the Ohio Rum Distillery of the Year as well as the USA Flavored Rum Distillery of the Year. We're becoming "The Rum Guys", and we're embracing our niche.

It's an honor to be named among some of the best distilleries in the world. We'll continue working hard to stay that way.

About the New York International Spirits Competition

The International Beverage Competitions Group was founded by Adam Levy, the "Alcohol Professor". Mr. Levy was inspired to start the competitions after reading an article by Lew Bryson in Malt Advocate Magazine — now called Whisky Advocate — asking why their ratings differ from many of the international competitions out there.  In the article, Mr. Bryson stated that over 80% of those who submit to many of these competitions including those on the West Coat of the USA and in the UK win a medal. That inspired Mr. Levy, a New York native, to open up shop in New York, and we're proud to state that his competitions are not "Medal Factories," and in fact less than 50% of those who submit win a medal. That's why they've become one of the most respected competition series in the world.
