COLUMBUS, OH - Last week was a pretty big week. A new cocktail menu launch (Volume 6), the release of AFTERLIFE, and we also received news that we won some pretty cool awards at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
The SFWSC is the largest spirits competition in the world and one of the most respected. In the industry, it's considered the Oscars of spirits competitions. This is the one we enter every year and the one we want to do the best in. This year saw over 6000 entries to the competition, with less than 10% overall winning the most coveted award, DOUBLE GOLD.

THE WINNERS
Just like last year, all three of the spirits we entered won awards.
DOUBLE GOLD
Less than 10% of all medals awarded are Double Gold, which only happens when all 10 judges of a spirit deem it worthy of a Gold medal. Our Queen's Share Rum has won the award both times it has been entered at San Francisco. Only 5 US-distilled rums won this award.

While nearly 20% of whiskeys in the competition were awarded a Double Gold, only 10% of Rums received the same. Only four other US rums were granted this prestige, and more than half of the Double Gold Rums were from the Caribbean. We also had the only Queen's Share Rum to win a medal. This puts us in rare company along with some of the best rum producers in the world.
We set out to make Echo Spirits known for quality rum and quality whiskey. These awards validate those efforts. We're honored to be put in the same company as these other distillers and know that the future only holds bigger and better things.
